My Top 10 Tracks of the Year

I had a coffee before bed and don't like my chances of sleeping anytime soon so, to overcome this I am going to use my energy to attempt the impossible and somehow narrow my iTunes down to my 10 most favourite songs of 2014. I feel like this will be not too dissimilar to what a parent must experience when asked who their favourite child is. I have way to much emotional attachment to the songs on my lil iPhone. But without further adieu *clears throat* the Top 10 of 2014 are as follows. (So far I have 40 songs in my top 10, this is not an easy task, 2014 WAS SUCH A GOOD YEAR)

1. Bridges - This was the first song by Broods that I ever heard and since then I have seen them live 4 times. I could have included their entire 'Evergreen' album in this list so it goes without saying that I am a huge fan and this song was massive for me this year.

2. Beggin For Thread - This is the latest Banks song ATM and each time she puts out a new track it instantly becomes my favourite of hers, and that is probably my favourite thing about Banks, she outdoes herself every time.

3. Roll Up Your Sleeves - Meg Mac is one of the freshest acts who rose from the musical underground this year and probably my favourite Australian solo artist this year. Her voice on this track blows my mind and it is the best sing along when packing your bags in Japan with your sisters (trust me).

4. Paranoia Ghosts and Other Sounds - Safia (saff-ee-ah) are 100% the most exciting electronic act out right now, in Australia anyway. Their EP has banger after banger after banger but this is the track that stands out the most for me, you can hear the influence Flume has had on these boys but they still very much have their own, distinct sound.

5. Bugatti - Lets talk about Tiga, you kind have to take what he does with a pinch of salt, but you can't deny that this is one of the catchiest songs of the year and the best thing he has ever done. I love it so much. (Also the best music video in forever!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFg6amMLd-o)

6. Tribe (Feat. Jessie Boykins |||) -  I heard this song by Theophilus London on Triple J one afternoon, shoutout 'Good Nights with Linda Marigliano' for always playing the best new shit, I had never heard anything like it before and it was one of those songs where you immediately fall in love with on first turn. Tunnnneeeeee

7. Bullit - French producer Watermät gets the award for the most feel good, uplifting song of the year, nuff said.

8. New Dorp, New York (feat Ezra Koeing) - This was SBTKT first taste of their new album ' Wonder Where We Land' and they came in hard with this one, pulling in Ezra from Vampire Weekend to lay down some signature vocals. The Bassline in this hooked me within the first 3 seconds and from then on the  song progressed so beautifully and the build up of percussion made me almost die.

9. Tongues (Feat. KOPPS) - Like SBTRKT, Joywave have created a song that progresses with such ease and is a deadset irresistible concoction of marching band intros, silky smooth vocals and vocal cuts, synths, xylophones and my favourite instrument in the world, THE COWBELL (right at the end)!!!

10. One Touch (Feat Aluna George & Rae Shemmurd) - The best thing to come from the creative brain of Baauer since the Harlem Shake. Aluna's sweet, sweet vocals on this are the perfect pairing with the downright dirty production of the track. This man know how to drop da beat. Dat breakdown though!

Honourable mentions go to :

Elliphant - One More (feat. MØ)
SOPHIE - Lemonade
Tkay Maidza  - Switch Lanes (Prod - Paces)
Willow Beats - Merewif
Little Dragon - Paris
FKA Twigs - Two Weeks
The Preatures - Somebody's Talking
Chet Faker - Gold
CHVRCHES - Do I Wanna Know (Like A Version)
Porter Robinson - Flicker

** please note this took me 2 hours and there is 30 other songs that I literally fell in love with this year that I wish I could include :(((((

Im off for a couple weeks so cya in 2015!!!!
Love Kritty x
