I Left My Heart at Laneway 2015
This weekend was the first festival of my musical year, St Jerome's Laneway Festival a.k.a LANEWAY!
This is one of my favourite festivals in the country purely because they really have their finger on the pulse and without fail book acts on the bill who have only just starting to blow up; or are about to any minute.
This year was a testament to this with big names from 2014 like Flight Facilities, Banks, FKA Twigs, Caribou, Little Dragon, Vic Mensa, Tkay Maidza, Jungle, Raury, Future Islands and so so many more loveable characters making the lineup.
If you didn't make it to the festival this year, this is what you missed out on, and if you're from Perth, Adelaide or Melbourne, this is what you have to look forward to.
The ever-bouncy Tkay Maidza soaked up the crowds energy and gave it right back, Raury's outfit was 100% perfect and he is an inspiration to 18 year olds (and every human) everywhere, Vic Mensa ripped Brisbane a new one during his seriously ruckus set, Jungle revealed the disco groove within all of us, Caribou's 'Can't Do Without You' is to die for live , FKA's stage presence was absolutely captivating (she is a goddamn work of art), Banks may have some mic volume difficulties but she is fierce as hell and sounds (and looks) flawless live, Yukimi from Little Dragon makes you feel stupidly happy and I want to wear a kimono and FLIGHT FACILITIES, so much sweat, so many hits, so much jumping, too much screaming, Owl Eyes on the mic is perfect and I want to live in a Flight Facilities crowd forever!
Can't wait until the next festival to do it all again, Groovin' in The Moo, save me a patch of grass, i'm coming for ya.
Love Kritty xx
