Graded : Laneway

Pic by Laneway Photogs

SOZSOZSOZSOZ this is hilariously l8 i know but to be fair i did move out of home and interstate so give a girl some slack pls. I'm ready now tho so chill out. My head is back from the clouds and it's time to tell you all about the 2016 instalment of one of my top 2 festivals, Laneway. Before I begin highlighting all my best bits in an orderly fashion, just wanna say big up Laneway ppl I don't know who you are, BBE have something to do with it, triple j play a big role too, but whoever the dream makers in charge of the bill, pls take a bow and feel me pat you on the back virtually trough the screen in 3,2,1 *pat**pat*. Nice one.

I say this every year but I will say it again, this festival without fail, continues to book some of the coolest new artists there are right now. Everything runs exactly on time, the stages are sick, toilet lines are not an issue, the food is bangin' and the dranks are tasty as fuck. Just a good vibe all round Laneway you get a big fat A+. This year was probably one of my fav Laneways too date and imma tell you all about it right now. ok go.

SOPHIE and QT

These two are so cool you literally can't believe they are human. They are like dolls. But then you end up standing next to them during Grimes and yo find out they are so human. They are like the most human dolls i've ever met. I don't remember a time when I was as happy as I was during Hey QT.

Violent Soho fans are crazy

Even if you aren't into Soho you kind of have to watch them just so see a crowd so enthusiastic they come out of the pit missing shoes and shirts and stuff. Plus hearing everyone scream "Hell Fuck Yeah" at the top of their lungs is always nice.

Grimes slayed

I finally saw Grimes live and she slayed. The girl is a one woman show and her set was flawless from start to finish. I was a lil distracted by the fact that I was probably breathing in the air QT was breathing out but for real Grimes was a big highlight. She played all the hits and it was incredible

Chvrches are gr8 live

I have never seen these guys put on a half assed show. Lauren Mayberry is a boss on and off the stage. Her stage banter is also hilarious and super cute with her lil accent. You are guaranteed to have a v fun time in a Chvrches crowd and it's a great time for a sing along.

Hudson Mohawke in the rain

After Chvrches we fled the scene to Hudmo which was pretty epic. As I predicted Scud Books was awe inspiring. It was raining at the time but nobody cared, everyone was dancing and jumping around in circles, by everyone I mean me and Alex.

Flume came home

I don't even know where to begin here. The long awaited rerun of Flume was everything and more. His live set is hit after hit after hit and his new unreleased stuff is sounding pretty amazing. He brought out friends Kučka and Kai (no Vince Staples, dunno why?). Probably the best moment of the whole festival is when Kai came out and they did Never Be Like You together, ppl on shoulders everywhere, everyone singing the words, Kai killlllling on vocals, I wanna go back :(

TBC made kick ons history once again

This place knows how to throw on a mad after party. Hudson Hohawke took over the dungeon and it was so lit. He played everything from hard style to disco and everything in between. He played Ain't Nobody by Chaka Khan ffs. Great moment.

NOMO FOMO

(pic of BBE making my Skepta dreams come true)

HEY Scardy cats. If you are sensitive to FOMO maybe don't read this post about FOMO. Which begins in 3...2...

If you have been following club tours at all this year you probably would have seen the name BBE pop up a few times. They brought out people like TroyBoi, Flosstradamus, Baauer, DJ Snake, Djemba Djemba and literally countless more.

Well, they curated their very own festival that went ahead on Saturday and I don't have a negative thing to say about it. One stage, a huge natural amipthere and even bigger acts, FOMO brought out Skepta, Boys Noize, RL Grime, Flight Facilities, Keys N Krates, Jamie XX, Mr.Carmack, Anna Lunoe, Benson and UV Boi (not gonna try do that foreign language thing at the end of his name, I could copy paste but cbf).

It was the festival Brisbane has been dying for and it couldn't have come at a better time. Here's some things I'd like you to know about my own personal experience at FOMO festival at Brisbane's Riverstage.

1. STRONG UV rays, equally strong set from UV Boi

2. Anna Lunoe's set and the way she looked watching the festival from the lil balcony (her tower) proved she was queen of the festival.

3. People LUV Keys N Krates more than you will ever know.

4. Skepta!

5. Don't cary around a roll of toilet paper incase you run into Shorty from BBK

6. Jamie xx was almost flawless. BUT C'MON DUDE! How you gonna not play Good Times. 4 real

7. The new Flight Facilities show is amazing (big up Hugo on that live auto tune). Owl Eyes was mesmerising as always

8. RL Grime looks like a god on stage and this was the best I've ever seen him play

9. The bro swerving on police from on top of a marquee during RL's set was the unofficial headliner. Almost got away, almost (see vid here)

10. Attention to detail was key, the cute lil flowers on stage and umbrellas in my frozen FOMO blue drink were A+

11. Skepta.

(i would find any excuse to include Broad City into this post)

Trackpad Tour = :♡.•♬✧⁽⁽ଘ( ˊᵕˋ )ଓ⁾⁾*+:*∴

v cute pic by donslens

HELLO PUPPY LUV!

I went to Basenji's Trackpad Tour in Brisbane last night and I have so much to say about it.

I would like to start this recap off by letting you know that before Basenji had even started, a cross-fit dude had invaded the stage, ripped his shirt off and was swinging it around above his head. Needless to say people were pretty excited.

With a quick lil intro from bff's UV Boi and Young Franco, Basenji appeared in his all white get-up and his super qt intro started that made me wanna cry a tiny bit.

The lighting and visuals were some of the best i've ever seen for this show. There were cute little puppies running with the music and sparkles and projections of the Basenji emblem and strobes, it had everything.

To give you the full Trackpad Brisbane experience i'm going to set the scene in the crowd. There is someone vaping behind you, 2 dudes thrash-dancing in front of you (I should add that at some points when they were "just vibing bro" they would just bang their heads on the stage). There is a couple making out next to you the whole time, 1 unannounced stage dive that didn't end horribly and 4 that did; shout-out to the girl who got completely decked by a bro but kept her spirits high dancing to Heirloom.

That was the general vibe. Basenji played all my faves, between his own songs from the Trackpad EP and some very well received unreleased stuff he also played tracks from Rustie, SOPHIE, an unreleased Cosmos Midnight remix of Flashdrive and a bunch of other fiery tracks I had to secretly shazam.

This show had some much energy and I don't think I have ever been so happy. If you are in Melbourne tonight or Sydney next Friday, pls go to be blessed by the super kawaii's of Basenji. If sadly you can't make it, I suggest you go buy one of his bb water bottle USB's loaded with the EP and try your best to pretend.

Love blessed Kritty, xxx.

What Went Down at Listen Out

Listen Out was kind of like a mix between Stereosonic and Laneway. Same kind of vibe as Laneway, just way more blown up dudes w/o shirts and 100% more bumbags, hence the stereo reference.

I experienced a lot of things at this years Listen Out in Brisbane and i'm going to fill you in on what I learnt and tell you about things that should be noted.

  • Group stretches before an all-day festival are the keys to success.

  • Basenji's lappy broke but then he played Rustie's edit of Beautiful and everything was perfect

  • Client Liasion gee me up so much I climbed a pole and danced on a fence - redbull could also be responsible for that impulsive decision.

  • Everyone in the world knows the words to Tuesday and No Type.

  • Hayden James' Something About You induced so much fluid movement in the crowd.

  • Ryan Hemsworth was #1 biggest babe there.

  • SBTRKT was my fav set, I did the cha-cha with Young Franco during this.

  • Alison Wonderland was the only girl on the lineup and drew one of the biggest/craziest crowds of the night.

  • Literally had to run to and from Childish Gambino and Golden Features for optimum experience.

  • Then ran from the exit back to Golden Features because just as you thought you'd call it, he'd drop some heat you couldn't miss.

  • TBC was quite possibly the highlight of the whole night because it was highly LITTTTT.  I wouldn't normally say 'turnt' but there is no other way to describe that after party. ILOVEMAKONNEN and Rae Shremmurd performing to a small club that was packed from wall-to-wall was insane. I also got to look at Ryan Hemsworth's face IRL again which was a bonus.

If you weren't at Listen Out this year i'll organise a care package to be delivered to your house because you must be spewin'. I hope you have a speedy recovery. See you at FOMO?

I Avoided FOMO & Went to BIGSOUND

Pic by Dave Kan

H'okay so, Bigsound is over, I'm v sleep deprived but in order to stay relevant like a good blogger would, I am going to post about the things I saw, heard, and learnt at this year's showcase ASAP, I'm clearly very professional. So here is my lil overview of the last couple of days.

Lucky for me, this conference takes place in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane so Bigsound was a geographical win for me. There was so much going on everywhere, so many important people, so many talented people and so many well-dressed people, you would totally be forgiven for feeling slightly intimidated.

Oh so you say you want highlights? I got plenty, I will even put them in beautiful dot point form.

  • GRRL PAL should probs be invited to do a Like A Version after their SBTRKT cover and also as a prize for their outstanding participation at the day 1 after party

  • Porsches had sweet matching Adidas tracksuits and invited pals onstage during Horses

  • The contrast between Ella Thompson's talking voice & singing voice (idk which I love more tbh)

  • Crowd participation during all the yung MC's set's (Gill Bates, Baro, Milwaukee Banks)

  • Dorsal Fins sinking VB tinnies and having a great time with 9 ppl on stage

  • Sui Zhen's whole thang

  • JOY. + full band is tight. Big ups to the sax player who started learning less than a month ago!

  • Joyride hype-maning the Brocase at TBC

  • The Flying Cock becoming home base in the afternoons for hangs and mingles

  • Seeing artists showing support for each other in the crowd was a beautiful thing :)

Living Bigsound 2015 for 2 days was like living inside of an inspirational speech. The standard and versatility of Australian music right now blows my damn mind. I would 10/10 highly recommend attending next year if you like meeting people who like what you like and you enjoy a phat multi-venue party with all kinds of cool people.

I'm gonna nap now and this time, i'm not going to be woken up by v loud 4am Spongebob playing in the room next to me, just gonna dream of all the dreamy showcases <3

NLV PRESENTS PRESENTS IN PRESENT 2K15

Djemba Djemba, Mssingno, Monki, u already kno.

So presents is spelt the same a 'presents' right? Like the things you get at birthday parties. Well I'm pretty sure when Nina Las Vegas brings the NLV Presents tour around the country each year, the intended definition of presents is "to formally introduce (someone) to someone else." e.g "May I present my wife?". However, the way I see it Nina is gifting us all by bringing the realest acts on her travelling party with her year after year, so technically they are her presents to us. It's a win-win type of situation, two birds with one stone if you will.

Being the gracious host she is, Nina only provides the best, Djemba Djemba, Monki, Mssingno and herself were this years crowd pleasers. The team shutdown Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Sydney and Adelaide, inspiring early starting nights out that turned into early morning raves. I got to witness NLV's hometown show at Goodgod Small Club in Sydney, 1 of the 3 shows that sold out! The vibe in the crowd was so wild David Attenborough could've narrated it. Lets just say a 10am checkout after that kind of throw-down is not an ideal reality.

Mssingno set the pace for the night before Monki took us to London, Djemba just dumped fire on everyone for an hour, Nina whipped it one last time (but not literally, I'm sure there's more where that came from) and then the b2b2b2b2b2b2b2b that included Cosmos Midnight, Wave Racer, Swick & Basenji could have been too much for people with pre-existing heart conditions to handle. It was only right that the last present Nina gave us was letting Shutdown be the closing song of the night and then it was lights on, request your uber, thanks for coming, cya later.

Festivals, warehouse parties, and other solo tours are always going to be a good time but I'm all about these kinds of massive club nights and parties where things are less predictable and go a whole lot later into the night. So yeah, if Attenborough really was there he would have said, "here is a wild Kritty in her natural habitat".

Thanks a milli to Nina & the legends of BBE for presenting this to us...and for all the presents, you guys are all present day MVPs.

Monki & Friends EP3

Hi there pebble,

Last week Monki released the 3rd annaul Monki & Friends EP through Red Bull Studios and she's managed to manifest a whole bunch of greatness once again. Basically Monki is a DJ and resident on BBC radio in the UK and quite frankly, the one true million dollar matchmaker.

Monki & Friends is a collaborative project which see's Monki bring people together to make a track who have either always talked about teaming up, or never though would but were destined to. The last instalment saw her connect Novelist & Murlo, Joe Goddard, Kidnap Kid & Moko, and Sinden & Theft to name a few of the perfect partners. She knows whats good and we should all be so grateful for the service she provides us each year. Did I mention it's free to download, what a ledge.

This year she creatively mated SG Lewis & Zac Abel, Wayward & Apres, Lxury & Billy Black, Gotsome & Tazer, NYTA & Woz and Kalyde & Applebottom. Solid work there lass. The whole concept is really cool, everyone loves a good collab right and she seems to find the perfect unions every time, focusing on up and comers in the UK she's kind of like the UK's fairy god mother.

Personal favs are the Gotsome & Tazer track If You Wanna and the Lxury & Billy Blcak collab, A Lot Of Words, but every single track is more then welcome to receive my orange Soundcloud heart, they deserve it. Relationship goals through the roof.

So yeah Monki is rad and we should all send her thankyou cards. ORRRRRR you can personally give her one when she's in the country! Gal's coming down to this great southern thanks to Australia's own fairy god mother, Nina Las Vegas, along with Djemba Djemba and Mssingno for the NLV Presents national tour, starting next weekend. I'm telling you, DO.NOT.MISS!!

Anyway I gotta make like a baby and head out. Pls have an enjoyable time discovering your new love for Monki by listening to the EP from start to finish and then grab the opportunity to see her play Oz with 2 hands, it's gonna be lit.

Kritty xxxxx.

Manuel & Tom Keep it Real With New EP

ayooo,

Manuel Mind & Tom Mandolini's new 5 track EP, Club Signs is out of the gates and running free via Wile Out, catch it if you can.

These dudes are a Switzerland x Zurich pairing who have a loooong history in the dance music scene. Sampling all kinds of 90's hip-hop vocal chops, they experiment with sounds of hyphy, break-beat, and baseline funk to give clubbers the old school feels.

This EP feels a bit like a wild throwback or like something you would hear if you were on transit in a club music Time Machine. I'm digging the history lesson.

Personal fav of the EP is Bounce, the break-beat in this one is pretty rad and then you get hit with the sax and it's kind of game over. Closely followed by My House. You will soon discover that the hook in this one is quite the little ear worm.

A mad real EP where each track's got it own little thang going on, drop a couple of these tracks into your sets and watch the crowd collectively bounce like one big ol' bubble butt.

Good news keeps on coming! You can get the track Back Up, for the mind-boggling price of just $0.00 wow amazing! Have a listen and taken advantage of this great steal below.

Splendour, Gender, and Things to Remember

Hey mud legs, welcome back to reality.

There, there my child, it's gonna be okay. It's time to let go of the dream, cut off the wristband, delete the app, get those mud stains out of your clothes and pls, scrub under your fingernails, it's all over for another year. If you notice a significantly somber mood taking over your hometown this week it's because PSD (post-splendour-depression) has officially set in nation-wide. #dontcrybecauseitsoversmilebecauseithappened

Splendour in the Grass continues to grow and outdo itself year after year and this one was some kind of amazing. Reminiscing about the past weekend feels deeply bittersweet. This year's lineup was a dream, the most notable thing about it was the number of incredible females who absolutely killed the game, big ups SITG for that win.

The ladies I caught were; KLP, Tired Lion, Ecca Vandal, George Maple, Tkay Maidza, Eves The Behaviour, Elliphant, Meg Mac, Purity Ring, Azealia Banks, Owl Eyes for Flight Facilities, Florence & The Machine, Valis Alps, MØ, MS MR, Alison Wonderland and GL (shout out to Ella Thompson for also stepping up during Mark Ronson's set, nbd). Each one of these ovary-bearers are on fire atm and proved to promoters everywhere that girls can pull some of the biggest, rowdiest crowds going around.

As well as that, the amount and standard of homegrown talent on display was something to make me so proud I could sing the national anthem and learn it's 2nd verse. Shout out to everyone brewing music in Australia rn, ily all.

Here is a list of other things I took away from #SITG2015

  • The Mix Up Tent became a giant game of stuck in the mud

  • The Amphitheatre became a giant slip 'n slide

  • Monte Morgan could be Freddie Mercury/ Meg Mac could be a singing Coco Chanel

  • MS MR were the smiliest band there and they'll make you wanna cry

  • Mark Ronson > rain

  • Everyone who swerved Flight Facilities absolutely kooked it

  • You can never be sad as long as there is confetti

  • Elliphant and MØ were the token bad bitches

  • Cameraman became the MVP after catching bikey boi during The Bike Song

  • Tipi Forest/Tent of Miracles is home to the freakiest ppl and most graceful dancers

  • Florence Welch is a fiery-haired-swan-angel

  • UV Boi sets have no chill

  • Swick & Lewis Cancut b2b's tickle all my tastebuds

  • V rare Triple J Tune Rags are Australian gold

  • Nothing beats a good +1,000 person clap along

  • When you think you have enough baby wipes, you don't. Pack more.

  • Sometimes a mysterious stranger will shit behind your tent other times they will fall on it and snap your pole #fabulous

  • LUV IS IN THE AIR!

I'm too sad to go on so i'm gonna go watch highlight videos, cry, try to get my life back together and apologise to my body for the next few days. Next stop Maroochydore Music & Arts Festival. c u there.

Love Kritty, trap arm and hoedown enthusiast. xxx

Rihanna Is Out Of Everyone's League - #BBHMM

Badgal Ri Ri has gone and released the best video of the entire year, soz TT Swift you can't win 'em all kid.

The song was already massive without visuals but it has been taken to a whole 'nutha level with this video. Its the fiercest thing I've ever laid eyes on, and there is even sneaky lols from the pon-de-replay-bae herself. You could get a decent medium rare going on a steak if you sat it down and had it watch this video over and over again, it's that fiery.

Girl takes care of business in this, livin' like the boss she is on her big ass boat and having swims in pools with bulk pool toys, sipin' on some cocktails. That is livin' Barry! There is too much I want to talk about in this video but rather than re-tell you the whole thing, this is where I will advise you to just watch it, HD, full-screen, surround-sound, do it NOW and then do it again!

I defs don't have your money, soz.

Hey lemonade kids,

This morning a phresh release came out via Wile Out, and its dedicated to all you slimy club cats. LunyP's new EP Sucker DJs Remixes is gonna get you in the spirit to stand in a kaleidoscope of ultraviolet lights and lasers and let these klerrb bangers intrude your body as you choke on smoke machines. The EP features remixes from Scottie B, DJ Sega, ECLIPSE & also includes a bonus beat and acapella track, kewll. That Time I Went To The WWP 2.0

Hey wassup hello

This Friday night Brisbane's RNA show grounds turned into a rave cave and it was a cave I would like to hibernate in for a while. Alison Wonderland's Wonderland Warehouse Project 2.0 pulled a strong crowd of party animals together. This year's lineup featured Paces, Cosmo's Midnight, Awe, Motez, Slumberjack and of coarse, the Trap Queen herself.

A bitchin' pre-game and delayed taxi (typical) meant our crew of buckled units rolled in about an hour into the throw-down. When we stepped in I was floored by the amount of people already there and still arriving. To see all these kids brought together for one girl was some inspirational shit. Here are some things that went down that you missed or, can look forward to if your city is getting hit next.

  • Adidas as far as the eye can see*
  • You will hear many a #BBHMM remix
  • Spice girls was played and I will never forget that
  • Cosmo's play PC music <3
  • Alison will play the whole Run album, make sure you're around it to reach ur boogie potential
  • Toilet lines are no joke
  • Old blokes were there for a spot of dancing and to think about the good ol' days
  • Soul mates are found (Big ups to the boy wearing the same light up shoes as me, we will meet again)
  • "PACK 'ER UP BOOIZZ" is still everyones fave catch phrase

In conclusion, every set had the fire warning locked in at extremely high. Vibes were so right from the front of the pit to the back, to the drinks line, to the toilets, to outside, everyone was raring to be there. Alison does it so right. TY for the invite to your party.

* You will not be the only one who puts "Alison" under your bootleg Adidas logo t-shirt, 10 points for effort though <3

Love your lover Kritty xxx

Cool Sports (A+)

sup playa playa?

Trampolines? Don't need em', Jumping castles? nbd. Pogo Sticks? naht today. You might have thought you knew what bouncing was, but listen to Nina Las Vegas x Swick's Cool Sports EP once and you will realise what you have been missing out on in your quest for all the fun-time boings.

Australia's fave gal NLV & Melbourne's very own, king of the quirks, Swick, have given birth to 3 babies, healthy babies, energetic babies, babies that will keep you up all night long wanting your attention. Said babies are in the form of the "AYYYE plus" 3 track EP, Cool Sports out via Fools Gold Records. This is the second colab project for the dream team, following up their first EP Don't Send, Cool Sports is a big fat, red cordial fuelled surprise party.

You never really know where each track is going to go, they make sure to keep you on your twinkle toes the for the whole 11 minutes. Opening with the title track Cool Sports, the build from the start lets you know some shit is about to get wild, like when you hold down that button on the pinball machine before you release it and the little ball shoots off to do some weird rebounds and stuff, bonus rounds and high scores are flying everywhere, such a win. Birthday is next and it's the cutest moofy club track ever, Nina's pitched up vocal is sweet af and anyone who knows me knows that if you wanna win me over, just hit me with a good bubble noise. The party comes to an end with Pool Girls, we can now assume this surprise party is in fact a surprise pool party, double fun m i rite?! This track calms you down a bit after your sugar rush but has enough of the good stuff in it that it will leave you going through withdrawals once its over, you will want to replay the whole thing from start to finish, this is when you will realise you are addicted.

For Nina, this is just the beginning, starting to put more focus onto her original production, she's stepped up and proved herself with this one. Swick is also on the up and up, his last release Crystal Palace out on buddy T-E-E-D's Nice Age label, is also one of the best this year IMO.

So put away your damn roo-boots and stupid exercise balls with handles, Cool Sports is is way better value and 10x more fun.

cya on the streets hustlerz, Love Kritty xx

Grooved and Mooved In Maitland

Aloha! What's crakalackin?

Groovin The Moo has been doing the rounds in regional Australia over the past couple of weeks and last weekend the 'Moo Crew' brought the vibes to sunny Maitland (defs should reconsider spelling as M8land, because those kids down there are pretty friendly).

The lineup this year was very, very good, a lot of old time faves like Flight Facilities, Ball Park Music, The Preatures and some fresh ones like Meg Mac and One Day - although the One Day collective have individually familiar faces themselves, i.e Spit Syndicate, Horrowshow, Jackie Onassis and Joyride.

The first act of the day were The Soorley's. They brought the most cheerful folky festival vibes ever, you could see how happy they were to be frolicking around up on stage and it was so good to sit down on the ridiculously lush grass and watch with a bevy in hand... or in each hand.

Between The Soorley's set and Tkay Maidza's set I had already tallied a total of 5 cow onesies, made  friends with a guy who may have peaked too early and regretted not applying sunscreen, sun safety is cool kids!

Tkay is a weapon on stage, she had the crowd in the palm of her hand the whole time, dancing her ass off a sass-rapping the bejesus out of everyone. Her set is a non-stop banger marathon and I get sad every time it's over.

I found out Meg Mac has a huge following of fan boys who are really convinced she will someday take their hand in marriage. This was my second time seeing her live and from watching her in a tiny Spiegeltent where she was so nervous the whole time, to seeing her captivate a massive crowd of really enthusiastic fans, I can probably say she was one of my favourite acts of the day. Her voice is flawless, the amount of control that girl has over her pipes is enough to make you shed a single tear of appreciation.

Maitland is a funny place, mullets are in high abundance, by 3:15pm I had spotted a total of 17 cow printed clothing/accessories and overheard some brilliant conversations during Sticky Finger's set such as, "Pinky promise we will be dating by next Groovin." The Sticky's get people in a really feel good mood, if you weren't watching them from the pit, you were up on the hill having a little sing along with the rest of the punters. They brought out the One Day crew to join them onstage who were fresh from killing their own set, in which they performed their freaking beautiful Like A Version of Scribes Not Many, that was a really great moment.

"Pack 'er up boiiizz" was the heckle of the day, it became a sort of mating call in a way, if you were able to find someone who knew what the heck you were on about you instantly became bff's. Speaking of friends, another highlight of the festival was when Ball Park Music covered the "Friends" theme song and everyone in the crowd did those little claps at the same time, I really liked that, that was nice, ty Ball Park.

The Moulin Rouge tent was the place to be at night, between Hot Dub's time warp, Broods' heavy feels performance, RL Grime's trap arm inflicting mix and Flight Facilities' classic Flight Facilities all round hits for days set, it was a great time to be alive. However, some of the funnest moments went down during Zan Rowe's mixes, girl knows how to host a party, dumping all the fire bombs, Uptown Funk, The Voice, Lose Yourself,  I was having the best time, I kind of wanted her to keep playing forever.

So Groovin' brought it, ending on a high with Owl Eyes on the mic singing my personal #1 Flight Facilities song Stand Still. A few "PACK ER UP BOOIIZ!" later it was catchya Groovin The Moo and hello freezing cold sprint back to the bus so it wouldn't leave us stranded in Maitland having to catch a train all the way back to Sydney, thanks for waiting, Darryl.

fin.

Stay groovy, Love Kritty xx

I Left My Heart at Laneway 2015

This weekend was the first festival of my musical year, St Jerome's Laneway Festival a.k.a LANEWAY!

This is one of my favourite festivals in the country purely because they really have their finger on the pulse and without fail book acts on the bill who have only just starting to blow up; or are about to any minute.

This year was a testament to this with big names from 2014 like Flight Facilities, Banks, FKA Twigs, Caribou, Little Dragon, Vic Mensa, Tkay Maidza, Jungle, Raury, Future Islands and so so many more loveable characters making the lineup.

If you didn't make it to the festival this year, this is what you missed out on, and if you're from Perth, Adelaide or Melbourne, this is what you have to look forward to.

The ever-bouncy Tkay Maidza soaked up the crowds energy and gave it right back, Raury's outfit was 100% perfect and he is an inspiration to 18 year olds (and every human) everywhere, Vic Mensa ripped Brisbane a new one during his seriously ruckus set, Jungle revealed the disco groove within all of us,  Caribou's  'Can't Do Without You' is to die for live , FKA's stage presence was absolutely captivating (she is a goddamn work of art), Banks may have some mic volume difficulties but she is fierce as hell and sounds (and looks) flawless live, Yukimi from Little Dragon makes you feel stupidly happy and I want to wear a kimono and FLIGHT FACILITIES, so much sweat, so many hits, so much jumping, too much screaming, Owl Eyes on the mic is perfect and I want to live in a Flight Facilities crowd forever!

Can't wait until the next festival to do it all again, Groovin' in The Moo, save me a patch of grass, i'm coming for ya.

Love Kritty xx
