Big Ups // TroyBoi

Shut ya pie holes, open ya ears and let TroyBoi open your world. This week i'm taking you to London town, but like a weird side alley of London that kinda freaks you out at first but then you realise you love it and want to hang out down there with all the other freaks on weekends.

TroyBoi is such a breath of fresh air, also making up half of the production team  Soundsnobz, his solo yolo approach to beat making is so innovative and completely unique, he has created a sound that is immediately identifiable and really sets him apart from everyone else. He produces tracks in a range of different genres, making it quite clear that he has a really deep pocket of influences to draw upon when creating his masterpieces.

I've been following this lad for about 4 months after I heard 'The Messenger' and had a big oof fest over it, then 'Remember' came out and I was frothin' a little bit, 2 months later O.G came out and I starting to crush really hard, one month later 'Do You' appeared online with it's spaghetti western intro that turns into a heavy, dirty trap beat, then there's the Flosstradamus track 'Soundclash', the Diplo and Friends BBC 1 guest mix, then the next day he dropped his most recent track 'Zone' that is a flutey, violin, wild banger. What I am getting at here is it's only up and up for this London boi.

So yeah TroyBoi, remember the name and run & tell that. *Major Lazer sirens* *drops the mic* *checks to make sure it's alright* *it is, thank god* PMPN 8 EZ

Tell Your Raving Grandchildren About : Jack Ü

This goes down smoother than peanut butter. The absolute dream team, dynamic duo, perfect partners, millionaire matchmaker type of shit that is Diplo and Skrillex is all the flavour and energy you will need to get you through this week. I am going to assume that you know both of these EDM heavy weights individual catalogues, but if you don't know who these guys are, you need to educate yourself before you are left behind and miss out on all the bump and grindin' vibes the rest of the world have been expressing themselves to.

So basically, these two dance lords came together to change the world under the moniker 'Jack Ü', the first taste tester they gave us was a track called 'Take Ü There (feat. Keiza)' and if that didn't get you hook line and sinker then you are living an unfulfilled life. Fast forward 6 months and the boys dropped their 10 track album during a surprise 24 hour DJ set and let me tell you, it is nothing short of a walk down banger avenue on the corner of hit lane.

The album features a huge Smörgåsbord board of artist including 2 Chainz, Aluna George and Justin Bieber to name a few. Some of the drops that are going on in these tracks are ridiculous, showcasing both Diplo and Skrillex's signature touches blended into a infectious hybrid that will penetrate your ears and electrify your dancing nerves.

They banged out every track from this album during their DJ marathon, along with heaps of other new releases and a couple of tracks that haven't been unleashed yet by their DJ/Producer buddies. Unfortunately, for all the die hard Jack Ü fans this planned '24 hr marathon set' was cut  6 hours short due to the fun police showing up. But never the less, 18 hours of max boogie time is pretty mad decent.

So do yourself a favour and get into this Jack Ü album because your quality of life will improve v much once you have this in it.

Love your glitter bug,  Kritty xx
