Obseen Rhymes With Caffeine, Coincidence? I think not.

Hi ya lil succulent. I haven't done a feature for a couple of weeks, have you noticed? Probs not because you are too busy having the time of your life with the playlists i've been making for you. It's time to cut that out though because I have someone you might want to meet if you like things that are good and fun.

Part of the Wile Out label, Sydney boy Obseen is like the "+ 4 wild card" in UNO. He can work with pretty much anything and when it gets dropped you know some shit is about to go down. The first track I heard from him was his remix of Ice Rink by Cashmere Cat & DJ Mustard and it is one of the best out there. Aside from that, he has been putting out other remixes, bootlegs and originals for about a year now.

A lot of Obseen's stuff is a forward thinking blend of house, trap and jersey. Buucardi is his latest release, that just came out on the 16th and it's a totally wild It starts out super dramatic and then rolls into this fabulously daffy hook that when I hear it makes me feel like a fresh prince. I can tell he killed it at lego as a kid because of how well this track builds, or maybe he was more of a building blocks kinda guy, idk. Either way I appreciate it v much.

Here is some great news for people who do not like to buy music with their precious numbers ($$), Obseen here has generously allowed for people to download his artworks of sound FO' FREE yeiii boiiiiz!! It's like consensual stealing so get around it if you want to feel like a BAMF.

Expect more fiery heaters from Obseen in ~the future~ but in the meantime you can pretend you are in the future by listening below :)

Adios, Kritty 4 lyf. xxx

Ce-le-brate Good Times 'Cmon

Yeh boiz! We did it woo it's Uni Lol-idays!

Im feeling good, feeling fresh, feeling like I have 2 months of freedom to tear up the town and maybe get into a wacky new hobby, you never know, the possibilities are endless! I'm looking to celebrate and I thought to help kick things of right i'd string together a lil playlist full of jams that will make you feel like a winner. I want you to get down, you are a free elf, run wild my friend, never look back! There are some bloody gems in here I tell you what, you are gonna be so pumped for life.

What a time to be alive! Seriously though, I hope your break is as good as I'm imagining mine to be. I'm very optimistic, in fact as i'm writing this I actually have an assignment open in another window that I haven't completed yet. But by the time I release this post to the world it would have been handed in, so really, this post is kind of for the benefit of my own motivation if i'm honest.

Thanks for helping me get through it pals you're always there for me, now cut loose you long-haired yahoo's and i'll meet you on the D floor.

Love your motivational speaker, Kritty xxx

That Time I Went To The WWP 2.0

Hey wassup hello

This Friday night Brisbane's RNA show grounds turned into a rave cave and it was a cave I would like to hibernate in for a while. Alison Wonderland's Wonderland Warehouse Project 2.0 pulled a strong crowd of party animals together. This year's lineup featured Paces, Cosmo's Midnight, Awe, Motez, Slumberjack and of coarse, the Trap Queen herself.

A bitchin' pre-game and delayed taxi (typical) meant our crew of buckled units rolled in about an hour into the throw-down. When we stepped in I was floored by the amount of people already there and still arriving. To see all these kids brought together for one girl was some inspirational shit. Here are some things that went down that you missed or, can look forward to if your city is getting hit next.

  • Adidas as far as the eye can see*
  • You will hear many a #BBHMM remix
  • Spice girls was played and I will never forget that
  • Cosmo's play PC music <3
  • Alison will play the whole Run album, make sure you're around it to reach ur boogie potential
  • Toilet lines are no joke
  • Old blokes were there for a spot of dancing and to think about the good ol' days
  • Soul mates are found (Big ups to the boy wearing the same light up shoes as me, we will meet again)
  • "PACK 'ER UP BOOIZZ" is still everyones fave catch phrase

In conclusion, every set had the fire warning locked in at extremely high. Vibes were so right from the front of the pit to the back, to the drinks line, to the toilets, to outside, everyone was raring to be there. Alison does it so right. TY for the invite to your party.

* You will not be the only one who puts "Alison" under your bootleg Adidas logo t-shirt, 10 points for effort though <3

Love your lover Kritty xxx

Sidenote: If you type in WWP 2.0 into google images, all you get is pics of kewl sunnies

Show These To Your Mum

Hey meatball, what's the 411?

It's been a good week right? The good time train is still travelling and I hope you're onboard because the playlist this week is like central station for the weekend, it'll take you anywhere you need to go, Grimeville, Ethereal Hill, Funky Town, you will get there when you play this out. You can leave your jackets at home for this trip, you might think its starting to get cold but you're about to get hit with some fire so just chill out with the beanies and scarves for right now.

Another week another #BBHMM remix, Diplo and Grandtheft went and put their spin on it and it's one of the good ones. More stuff sourced from Triple J Unearthed, this time from Brisbane boy Reuben Stephan. He kinda blew me away a bit with his debut track I Got It Now, this dude can do everything, he writes, sings, raps, produces and engineers all his own stuff, if you're into people like Robert Delong you should watch for more to come from him. Grime is pretty heavily featured again this week because I get down to it so hard and that's the only explanation you need for that. Then there is a bunch more from faves like TroyBoi, Ben Khan and Shakka, who i'm kind of obsessed with atm.

That's all we've got time for today folks, please enjoy the complimentary refreshments and I hope to see you onboard again next time.

Love Captain Kritty xx.

p.s you should know that I was one second guess away from titling this post Choo Choo Choones because of the train reference, I think its for the best I let that one go.

ya dig?

Big Ups // TroyBoi

Shut ya pie holes, open ya ears and let TroyBoi open your world. This week i'm taking you to London town, but like a weird side alley of London that kinda freaks you out at first but then you realise you love it and want to hang out down there with all the other freaks on weekends.

TroyBoi is such a breath of fresh air, also making up half of the production team  Soundsnobz, his solo yolo approach to beat making is so innovative and completely unique, he has created a sound that is immediately identifiable and really sets him apart from everyone else. He produces tracks in a range of different genres, making it quite clear that he has a really deep pocket of influences to draw upon when creating his masterpieces.

I've been following this lad for about 4 months after I heard 'The Messenger' and had a big oof fest over it, then 'Remember' came out and I was frothin' a little bit, 2 months later O.G came out and I starting to crush really hard, one month later 'Do You' appeared online with it's spaghetti western intro that turns into a heavy, dirty trap beat, then there's the Flosstradamus track 'Soundclash', the Diplo and Friends BBC 1 guest mix, then the next day he dropped his most recent track 'Zone' that is a flutey, violin, wild banger. What I am getting at here is it's only up and up for this London boi.

So yeah TroyBoi, remember the name and run & tell that. *Major Lazer sirens* *drops the mic* *checks to make sure it's alright* *it is, thank god* PMPN 8 EZ

Tell Your Raving Grandchildren About : Jack Ü

This goes down smoother than peanut butter. The absolute dream team, dynamic duo, perfect partners, millionaire matchmaker type of shit that is Diplo and Skrillex is all the flavour and energy you will need to get you through this week. I am going to assume that you know both of these EDM heavy weights individual catalogues, but if you don't know who these guys are, you need to educate yourself before you are left behind and miss out on all the bump and grindin' vibes the rest of the world have been expressing themselves to.

So basically, these two dance lords came together to change the world under the moniker 'Jack Ü', the first taste tester they gave us was a track called 'Take Ü There (feat. Keiza)' and if that didn't get you hook line and sinker then you are living an unfulfilled life. Fast forward 6 months and the boys dropped their 10 track album during a surprise 24 hour DJ set and let me tell you, it is nothing short of a walk down banger avenue on the corner of hit lane.

The album features a huge Smörgåsbord board of artist including 2 Chainz, Aluna George and Justin Bieber to name a few. Some of the drops that are going on in these tracks are ridiculous, showcasing both Diplo and Skrillex's signature touches blended into a infectious hybrid that will penetrate your ears and electrify your dancing nerves.

They banged out every track from this album during their DJ marathon, along with heaps of other new releases and a couple of tracks that haven't been unleashed yet by their DJ/Producer buddies. Unfortunately, for all the die hard Jack Ü fans this planned '24 hr marathon set' was cut  6 hours short due to the fun police showing up. But never the less, 18 hours of max boogie time is pretty mad decent.

So do yourself a favour and get into this Jack Ü album because your quality of life will improve v much once you have this in it.

Love your glitter bug,  Kritty xx
