LTNS! (Did I just coin the 'long time, no see' abbreviation?)
I'm back baby and I come bearing gifts. Pretend that I am your friend in year 5 who goes overseas with their family and you miss her/him but you also know that you are gonna get some sweet souvenirs when they return!
I have outdone that friend in primary school because i've pulled through with gifts from Australia, the UK, the U.S and even a spicy number from the Dominican Republic because i'm an exotic traveller.
Long story short, we have some catching up to do. Before I dive back in to sharing my fav new tracks of the week, let me fill you in on what you might have missed over the past couple of months.
We got new Club Aerobics, NLV Records, DBM and the best news of all, NEW M.I.A. - but also, potentially the last M.I.A. :'(
pls enjoy.

Mid-Week MP3s
Hey swizzle sticks,
It's about that time for another playlist and I thought instead of using my free time to do my assignments, i'd write this instead. So time management could be better but these are the things I do for you, you're so welcome, it really is my pleasure.
Ok class, hands up if you like guitars, keep your hands up. Who likes pop? Woo yeah, keep your hands up. What about electronic beats? Fabulous, keep those hands up. Future bass? Brilliant keep 'em high. Where's my trap king and queens, hands up? Wow look, everyone in the whole world has their hand up. This is perfect because that means everyone in the world will find something they can crush on in the weeks playlist. Mission accomplished, good job Kristy Barker, you've done it again.
Another week, another load of newly harvested tracks. This week the "Australian Made" stamp goes to S U N D A Y, Female, Feki and Grrl Pal, who are all Triple J Unearthed lil babies and also to Melbourne boy, Air Max '97. All these weet-bix kids are blossoming as I type this and even more as you're reading this so keep you're ears up for more things to come from them.
Have the best time,
Love Kritty xxx

Roses Smell like Poo and I Made a Playlist For U & Ur Honey Boo Boo
What's cooking good looking? Fellas, ladies, it's about that time of year, you've made your fancy shmancy dinner reservations and bought some cliché presents for your lover(s) (i see you players), most likely a combination of lace undergarments, chocolates, flowers, a fragrance and maybe a soap of some sort, probably from the The Body Shop or LUSH , and you've no doubt planned a romantic stroll along the beach or something really original like that, and thats so awesome, I'm not bitter.

But what do you do once you've finished your salad I hear you ask? You take that shit home, seriously people, PDA isn't always needed in a restaurant in front of waiters who are working on a Saturday night and have non-existent love lives, not bitter... Anyway, leave it to me guys, i've got this next part covered for you. What you're gonna do is make sure your wifi connection is at least 3 bars minimum and then you are going to play this playlist that I have ever so kindly prepared to help you impress and ultimately seduce your boo thang. Then ladies and gents, get your sound system on a suitable level of volume and let yourselves go with the motion of the ocean. You're welcome.
Now don't think that I forgot about all you anti-valentines day people who are neg'n on love in general right now, I have also made you a playlist that you can enjoy by yourself, with your pets or with other single companions; being intoxicated while listening to this is totally fine, infact it is recommended.
So good luck with it all kids, I believe in you, no matter what playlist you are going to be listening to.

Weekend Faves - Feb 6 / Big Ups: Van She
Hi how are you? Thats good, oh you know not much i've just been getting my Dora Explorer on this week and looking for hidden little gems in the inter webs, and I found some big fat nugs of gold, let me tell you. So boys, let down your man buns, girls, whip out that leather bralette, its time to get your freak on. This week I found my new favourite songs woohoo.
Firstly, some background info to help you understand why I am so obsessed with these songs this week; I love Van She, thats pretty much all you need to know. So that brings me to 2 (dos) new tracks, numero uno is 'Anything' by Tear Council, and the seconds fave of the week it Du Tonc's 'Every Song'. When I first heard 'Anything' I was getting some Client Liaison 'End of The Earth" vibes in the rhythm and instrumentation and something reminded me of Van She's jungle jam 'Jamaica' from 2012, and what did I find out with a little more research about 'Tear Council'?! ITS 2/4 OF VAN SHE (Matt Van Schie and Michael Di Francesco a.k.a Touch Sensitive)! So that explains why I was all about this new track and yes, this song is a fabulous discovery that I guarantee you will die for it.
Then, we have 'Every Song' by Du Tonc, who I randomly followed on Soundcloud about 12 months ago when I accidentally found their cover of Bruce Springsteen's "On Fire". (Bruce Springsteen, if your reading this, I love you). I didn't really look into them any further after that so kind of forgot about them, I must have been feeling lazy that day. BUT THEN, they posted this song just over a week ago and I was obsessed. Usually I have to listen to a song a couple of times to really fall for it, but this got me good straight away, and then the bass line
introduced itself in the bridge and I was all HOT DAMN, call the po-lice and the fireman the funk hit me, and it hit me hard. So basically I investigated Du Tonc's situation and you wouldn't friggen believe it, it's only Van She's, Matt Van Schie, involved in another dynamic duo with this chap Mighty Mouse. Moral of the story this week is Matt Van Schie pretty much has the midas touch and is doing great things at the minute.
In this playlist is 8 other great songs I also got down hard to this week to and I recommend these in your everyday life, not just the weekend. Best week ever wooooo can't wait to put my thang down flip it an reverse it all weekend long.

Weekend Favs - Jan 12
First one back for the new year so I made this an extra special 20 track playlist. tbh you'll probably want to burn in onto a CD for your next road trip. Im sure by now you'll expect some diversity as usual, it's a mixture of a bunch of different things new and old tracks that got me going this past couple of weeks, everything from electronic, to alternative, to jersey club, you better believe it's all in there. Hope you find something that tickles your pickle, floats your boat or feeds your goat.
Love Kritty xx.

WHAT THIS WEEK SOUNDED LIKE - 10 NOV
Hi Hello, I found some new things. Freshly pulled from the soundcloud heavens I have brand new things from JAVASCRIPT, Two Inch Punch, Kero Kero Bonito and Liv, plus a few ripened ones from Watermät, Lil Silva, Ryan Hemsworth and GFOTY. I have been doing some serious hunting through various blogs and I have found a new obsession in Beat Magazine ( http://thebeatjuice.com/ ), they really have their finger on the pulse and actively update a new music page which allows listeners to vote for their favourite new music, this is how I discovered Liv's - Come A Little Closer and I have become addicted ever since. I highly recommend checking it out if you like the feeling of hearing your new fav song for the first time. Anyway I have been super busy lately working on some personal projects of my own, but until I am ready to share those, have a bit of a bounce and a body roll to this weeks playlist!
